KUALA LUMPUR: Shares in CN Asia Corp Bhd fell in early trade Friday on profit-taking activities following its recent run-up. The engineering services company shed 12.24%, or 29 sen to RM2.08 with 6.6 million shares traded. CN ASIA has proposed to set up a MyWEW (women empowering women) Digital Bank after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Intcys Sdn Bhd. The proposed digital bank will focus on the women’s market by aiding them in obtaining digital banking services, including entrepreneurial financing, micro-loans, applying for debit and credit cards and the opening of digital bank accounts, CN Asia said. According to the MoU CN Asia endeavours to invest a total sum of RM400mil for the establishment of a consortium for this woman digital banking. CN Asia executive director Chang Chee Ching said the group sees digital banking as a future trend, following the announcement by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) last Friday regarding a draft consultation on the licence framework for digital banks.
